Last week was the girls' first Thanksgiving. We went to Tennessee to see Nana (Ben's grandmother and Virginia's namesake) and the rest of the Stivers (Ben's mom's family) clan. It was a really good trip. The girls did great in the car. It's normally about an eight hour trip. We made it in 10 hours on the way down, stopping 3 times to feed the girls. It took us only 9 hours on the way back and we only stopped twice. The girls slept quite well at night while we were gone and slept most of the time in the car. Thursday and Friday, though, they did not want to be in their carseats. They would start crying as soon as they saw their carseats. But they got over it and did well in the car on the way home on Saturday.
For Thanksgiving we went to Ben's cousin Ali's house. There were about 35 people there, so it was a big group- and this was the small year! Everyone loved the girls, of course, and they were really good. They didn't want to sleep, though. We had to fight to get them down for naps and they only slept for about 30 or 45 minutes before we had to get them up for pictures. Oh well.
Here are some of the pictures:

In other news- we have our first tooth! We noticed on our way home on Saturday that Virginia had a tooth about to break through- it was right there where you could feel it, but it wasn't through the skin yet. Well, on Sunday it appeared to break through the skin. It's hard to see because if you pull her lip back she covers her gums with her tongue, but it's definitely there. And I don't think Paige is too far behind her considering how fussy she's been lately. They're both really, really drooly these days.
They go to the doctor tomorrow for their 5 month weight check. I'll be sure to update with that information tomorrow or Wednesday.
