Fire Station Visit

Last Friday my Moms of Multiples Club had a get together at a local fire station.  When we got there the fire fighters had just gotten a call, so it was just our group and the lieutenant at the station for a little while.  Thankfully there was a little swing set out in back of the station and the weather was gorgeous, so we took the kids out there and let them play.  They had a great time.

Inside the fire station they had some things for the kids to play with, like this fire truck that Virginia wanted to drive.
My mom met us at the fire station since she was taking Paige and Virginia for the weekend.  It was great having her there- she helped all of the parents' out with their children, not just me.  Here she is with Virginia and Paige waiting their turn to climb on the swing set.

After we played at the swing set for awhile the fire fighters came back.  They took us over to the ambulance and showed us that and let the kids climb in it.  My mom climbed up in there with the kids and sat on the bench while the fire fighter told us about it.
After a small incident with a little boy falling out of the ambulance (he was fine) we headed over to check out the fire truck.  My girls that are normally so shy were not at all shy about climbing up in the fire truck and checking it out.  Virginia actually kept trying to climb up into the driver's seat, but we kept pulling her back into the area where they were allowed to be.

After we finished at the fire station we went out to lunch at Mimi's Cafe.  With their meals Paige and Virginia each got a "dirt cup" which was chocolate pudding with crushed oreos on top and then two gummy worms on it.  Paige was having fun playing with her gummy worms.
 And Virginia enjoyed her "dirt."
The girls had a great weekend with Dee and Dude while Ben and I worked hard here cleaning out our basement.  Of course, it wasn't all work and no play, we also went out to dinner to celebrate Valentines' Day and went to see the Drive-By Truckers play.  We did get a lot of work done, though.  And now we're in the middle of getting some work done in the house.  We're getting a half bath put in the basement along with getting all of our ceilings repainted and changing out our bathroom sink faucets and some light fixtures.  Hopefully all of the work will be done next week and then I'll post some pictures.
