Paige and Virginia's Birthday Party

On Saturday June 30 we had a birthday party at our house for Paige and Virginia.  We had a huge storm come through the night before and it knocked out power to a lot of the area, but we were lucky enough to keep our electricity.  We did, though, lose cell phone service.  We could handle that, though. As soon as we found out about the power outages Ben sent out an e-mail letting people know that we had power and the party was still on.  Most of the people who had planned on coming were still able to come and they got to enjoy our air conditioning.  There were only two families who came to the party who had power at home.

We had a small pool and the water table set up in the backyard.  We couldn't keep Kera, Paige and Virginia out of the pool while we were setting up for the party.  Once people started showing up for the party, the girls had friends join them out in the pool.  And I was busy making coffee for people who hadn't been able to have their normal morning coffee since they didn't have power.  We had plenty of food and everyone seemed to have a good time.  We were so happy to be able to have everyone over for the party- and especially happy that we had power and could share our air conditioning on such a hot day.

It was great having Bethany here for a number of reasons, one being that she decorated for the party for us.

After the party we set up the Barbie pools and the girls played with them outside by the pool.

These three really bonded.  I hope we can get them together again before too long.

We all had a great time at the birthday party.  Thank you to everyone that came and partied with us.  It was great to see everyone.  We also missed those of you that couldn't make it and hopefully we'll be able to get together with you soon.
