Thanks to Tropical Storm Arthur there were a lot of extra waterfalls in the park. The water was running over the rocks all over the place. While it was definitely a gloomy morning, the park was still beautiful and it was neat to see everything when it was wet.
A small waterfall thanks to Arthur.
And a bigger Arthur waterfall.
This is Sandy Beach- the one sandy part of the shoreline in Acadia. You can see how angry the ocean was thanks to the storm offshore.

After going around the park road in Acadia we headed back to town for lunch. Thankfully the rain stopped so we walked around and found a place to eat lunch- where Ben and I had delicious lobster rolls- and then did a little shopping. We went to a small toy store and then went to get a toy for Jefferson (a squeaky lobster) and also picked up a Christmas tree ornament to commemorate our trip. Then we decided to head back to Acadia to explore Cadillac Mountain since the weather had cleared out.We stopped at one of the pull offs on the way up Cadillac Mountain and walked around there to check out the view. It was really windy up there- as you can see by looking at Virginia's hair in this picture.
The view from the side of Cadillac Mountain.
Just beautiful.
My three favorite people in the wind on Cadillac Mountain.
From there we drove up to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. The top of Cadillac Mountain all granite and fairly flat so you can walk all over the top and check out the view in all directions. The views were amazing!
Looking out at the islands from the top of the mountain.
Virginia and Paige having a great time running around on top of Cadillac Mountain.
My babies on top of the mountain.
Looking out over Otter Point.
My happy girls.
More fun exploring the summit.

When we finished running around the top of Cadillac Mountain we stopped in the gift shop before heading back down to Bar Harbor for dinner. We had dinner and then went back to our hotel room and went to bed. It was a full and fun day in Bar Harbor. And we had plans for the next morning to go out on a whale watching trip...
