As usual we stopped at the market on our way into town so we could get fruit and some snacks. It was a good thing we had snacks since it took us MUCH longer to get from the market to Awful Arthurs that it normally would.
Paige working hard driving the tractor.
Virginia just chilling out on the tractor.
We met Mimi and Pops for lunch and then we headed straight to the house while they went to get the key. We managed to figure out how to get around the house and to the beach without the key so we headed down to the beach and the girls went right in the water. They didn't care that they were wearing their clothes! It wasn't until the next day that the Dallas crew made it to the beach, so we just spent Sunday hanging out around the house, pool and beach. One night Pops made sliders for dinner and, while doing so, gave Brooks a lesson on how to grill burgers. Pops makes the best burgers!
One night after dinner we all walked down the street a little ways to get some frozen yogurt.
Everyone lined up eating their frozen yogurt.

Even though there had been some shark attacks further south in North Carolina we still played in the ocean some. We got into a nice rhythm of getting up in the morning and eating breakfast before going out for a walk or run. Then we'd get dressed for the beach and head down there until lunch time. After lunch we'd hang out at the pool. It was great.

Thankfully this was the only shark we saw and it was very dead.
Shannon noticed this on one of her runs right near the road.
Brooks playing baseball on the beach.
Paige chilling out on some noodles in the pool.
These three are already addicted to phones...

All of us (minus Pops who was taking the girls) on the beach.

One morning instead of going out on walks or runs near the house the younger generations decided to go out to a nature preserve to do a little hike. We got there in time to see a presentation on some of the animals that live in the preserve which was all fine and good while the guy was showing up frogs and turtles, but when he pulled out a snake I had to leave the room. I'd rather just think that they are not snakes there so I don't need to stress about them.We had a good time hiking and reading all of the signs and learning about the area.
We didn't see much wildlife out in the woods, but we did see this little frog.
Lloyd, Baylee, Shannon, Brooks, Virginia and Ben reading a sign.
All of us walking across the boardwalk- and keeping an eye out for snakes, which we, thankfully, didn't find.
We made it to the end of the bath where it met the sound and we stopped for family pictures.
As usual, we celebrated Virginia and Paige's birthday while at the beach. They were very excited about their Five Below giftcards and all of the other gifts, including their dresses from Mimi and Pops.
Such sweet little almost 7 year olds!
We are so glad that everyone was able to spend the whole week at the beach! It was so much fun to be able to get in so much family time, especially after Ben and I had to miss out on so much family time the weekend of Lloyd and Shannon's wedding. Thank you, Mimi and Pops, for another fabulous beach week! We're already looking forward to next year!
