The Crib Room
What we had always intended to be the nursery when we had children turned out not to be quite big enough when we got the great news we were having twins. So now it is the crib room. It fits both cribs just fine, but there isn't a whole lot of room for anything else. This room is almost complete and just needs some finishing touches. The only thing we have left to put up are some ledges above the cribs, which are currently on order. There will be one over each girl's crib with their name on it. I've already purchased the letters for the names and have painted them the red you see in the bedding and wall decor. It is pretty close to fire engine red.
The first two pictures below show the cribs on either side of the room and the nightstand which is next to the crib on the right. The next two pictures are of two cross stitches that Nana, one of the girls' paternal great-grandmothers, made for them. Nana has done these for each of her other five great-grandchildren, and we are so happy she was able to do two more for our girls. Since they will share so much over their lives, we wanted to make sure each girl got her own cross stitch from Nana. One is centered above each crib and as they grow up they will keep the one that was over their crib when they were infants. Once we get the ledges those will go above the cross stitch prayers and the names will go on those. The final picture in the crib room shows the valance over the window.
Next door to the crib room is the changing room. The changing room has the changing table, all the girls clothes, the world's most comfortable chair, and one of the world's most comfortable rugs. A shelf on the wall will hold the girls' books for now, but once Tobi is able to leave the house and make her way to Barnes and Noble, there will be far too many books to fit on one small shelf. The print over the changing table/dresser is one I bought on a family trip to Savannah, Georgia years ago. We just recently got it framed and it goes great with our animal decor. The closeup picture is a bit washed out because of the flash.
