Yesterday we drove to Waynesboro and spent the day at my grandparents' house. One of my aunts, two of my cousins and my cousin's two daughters were there for the weekend. We went down and so did my parents, Todd, Sandra and Keats. It was great to have so much of the family together. And it was so much fun to watch all of the children playing together.
Here are our girls and my cousin, Marcy's girls: Paige, Jada, Jennesa and Virginia.

My grandparents live on 5 (I think) acres of land that is pretty much all open and fairly flat. A great place for 5 children ages 2-6 to run around. Virginia just stood there at first and watched Jada and Keats run around.

It didn't take long, though, before Virginia realized she could be out there running around, too. She made sure she took bear with her.

My grandparents have a nice garden where they grow asparagus, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and peppers. We all decided to walk down and check it out. Keats and Paige walked down to the garden together, holding hands. How cute are they?!

My grandparents also have tractors/riding lawn mowers. We went into the barn to see the tractors and the kids had a great time climbing on them and pretending to drive. Paige was much more into driving the tractor than Virginia was, but they both liked sitting in the seat of their great-grandpa's tractor.

Apparently Virginia was happier about being in the seat when she was with Jada, with Keats watching.

Todd couldn't let the kids have all of the fun, so he had to get on the tractors, too. Todd and Great-Grandpa D got Great-Grandma D's tractor out of the barn and when it was time to put it back in, Keats tried to push the tractor in with Todd on it. Thankfully Great-Grandpa D came to the rescue and helped push the tractor back into the barn.

Virginia running again. She seriously loved having all of the space to run around. And Todd and I decided she's going to be a lacrosse player when she gets older. She's already got her left elbow up when she runs, just like she'll need it up when she's cradling a lacrosse stick.

Paige sure does love her Uncle Todd. It always amazes me how quickly children take to Todd. Within about 30 seconds of seeing the girls last weekend he was holding Paige. It always surprises me when my shy little girls take to anyone that quickly. Then yesterday Todd managed to get Jennesa (who would barely talk to anyone) to let him hold her and to get her to be in some pictures. Amazing.

All of the kids were having fun with strollers, whether it was riding in them or pushing them. Virginia got a ride in her stroller from Jada.

We're so glad we could get down there yesterday. We need to make a point to get down to see my grandparents more often. Somehow it had been since Labor Day weekend 2008 since we had the girls down there. It was great to have so much of the family together. That doesn't happen too often since we're spread between Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina and Alaska, but it sure is fun when it does happen.
