Cox Farms

Since Monday was a holiday we decided to take the girls to the fall festival at Cox Farms.  It was unseasonably warm, but other than that it was a great day.  They had all kinds of things for us to do there.  We started out just wandering around to see what was there.  We saw some cows, which Paige and Virginia wouldn't go anywhere near.
Virginia was content to look at the cows, but that was enough for her.
We headed up to Goat Village where you could pet and feed the goats.  We didn't buy any goat feed because we didn't know if the girls would want to feed the goats.  It's a good thing we didn't buy any because the girls wanted nothing to do with the goats.  This is about as close as Paige got to one.  I think Virginia got a little closer, but not by choice- they came to her looking for food.
They had a bunch of slides that people could go down, but most of them were big.  We did go down one of the big ones a couple of times with Ben and I holding the girls on our laps.  Since we were along for the ride we didn't get any pictures on the big slides.  The girls really liked this little frog slide, though.  They must have gone down it 4 or 5 times.

After the frog slide we decided to go get in line for a hayride.  The hayride lasted about 20 minutes and went back through the woods and around a pond.  There are all kinds of things to see on the hayride, including cut outs of all kinds of characters, aliens, witches, and horses.  I'm not sure how much the girls enjoyed it, but Ben and I enjoyed the fact that we got to sit down for awhile.  Paige sat in my lap and Virginia sat in Ben's lap for the hayride.

After the hayride we went exploring some more.  The girls found a wooden train to climb on.  Paige and Virginia loved that and even went in and sat down.  Ben enjoyed it with them, although he didn't climb in.

Paige and Virginia also found some hay set up for climbing.  I think this is about as far as they got, though, before we decided it was time to get some lunch.
After lunch we headed down to the Kids Zone, an area that is just for children under 5.  They had a slide that came out of a gingerbread house.  The girls loved that.  They must have gone down it at least a half dozen times.

Then they found another train to climb in and through.  They especially liked the little seats in the yellow car.  Paige had fun trying to clean all of the corn kernals out of the car.  She would have needed to stay for a week to get them all out, but she was happy to get as many as she could.
Virginia liked sticking her head out of the train window.
On the way out of Cox Farms we picked up our "free" pumpkins.  Each person with a wristband (everyone 2 and over) gets a free pumpkin.  Paige and Virginia love their "big apples," as they like to call them.  Here they are on our front stoop with all of the pumpkins.
Virginia wants to share her pumpkins.  Isn't that sweet of her?

Cox Farms was a lot of fun!  We will definitely be going back next year.  I think next year will be even more fun because the girls will be able to do more.  I absolutely love having toddlers in the fall- so many fun places to go and fun things to do!
