Daddy's Birthday Party

We celebrated Ben's birthday a little early since we had other things going on the weekend of his birthday and because Uncle Lloyd was in town for one night the weekend before Ben's birthday.  We went over to Mimi and Pops' house for dinner the Sunday before Ben's birthday and had a wonderful time.  The girls got to wear their new jumpers, and since it was so warm out, they even got to wear short sleeved shirts under them and no tights.  They looked adorable in their little jumpers and they seemed to really like them.  Paige was wearing her owl jumper and Virginia was wearing her monkey jumper and hanging out with Mimi and Pops' pumpkins.
And, of course, Mimi had a yummy snack ready for us when we got there.  The girls loved the honey pretzel sticks or whatever they're called.  They're made by Pringles and are yummy!

We spent some time playing out in the yard.  How could we not?  The weather was gorgeous!  Paige had fun playing with the chairs.
Mimi and Pops wanted a picture of the four of us and Uncle Lloyd for their Christmas card, so we got our group picture taken.
Pops tried to see how big he could make Paige.  She stretches out pretty well.
The girls decided that Mimi and Pops' yard was fun, but they wanted to go exploring and took off for the neighbor's yard.  I went over and tried to usher them back to Mimi and Pops' yard.  Jefferson, of course, joined in the fun.
Uncle Lloyd brought his dog, Irie, of course.  She loves to play fetch.  She'll run and fetch anything you throw for her.  She had what started out as a decent sized stick, but eventually wore down to just a little stump of wood.  When it was small enough the girls joined in on the fun of playing fetch with Irie.  Here Virginia's getting ready to throw the stick for Irie while Dee holds onto Irie so she'll wait for Virginia to throw the stick.

Virginia getting tickled by Uncle Lloyd.  These girls sure love their Uncle Lloyd.
Dee and Dude brought Virginia and Paige Halloween cards and books.  Virginia watched over Paige's shoulder while Paige opened her card.

We ate dinner (a grilled cheese bar- yummy!) and then it was time for Daddy to open his birthday presents.  He couldn't do it without help, though.  Virginia waiting for something to open.
Paige helping Daddy out and opening one of his gifts for him.
Virginia finally got something to open and is working on it.
They even wanted to open the gift that was from them, and me, and my parents.
Ben was delighted with his i-Pad!  The girls didn't quite understand why he was so excited about a box.
Cake time!  Ben got the ice cream cake that he requested.
Virginia tried to help him blow out the candles.
Paige finished her cake, but was having so much fun with her spoon that she decided to just eat/drink her water with her spoon.  Silly girl!
Celebrating Daddy's birthday was a lot of fun, as it usually is when the whole family gets together.  We can't wait until Christmas when we all get to be together again!
