Sunday was Halloween. This was the first year that the girls could really enjoy Trick or Treating. Last year we went to a couple of houses, but that was it. This year we didn't go to a lot of houses, but we definitely went to more than last year. The girls seemed to enjoy it, but I don't think they said a word to anyone until we got to Mimi and Pops' house. On Saturday Virginia and Paige went shopping with Dee while we were at the Rally to Restore Sanity/Keep Fear Alive on the National Mall. They got these new Halloween shirts.

Our little cupcake is ready to go!
I wish I could say this was an after Trick or Treating picture, but it was actually taken before we left the house. Doesn't it look like Paige has had way too much to eat?
Finally out of the house. As soon as we walked out our front door 4 or 5 girls from our row of houses ran over to us. Virginia and Paige were completely distracted while we were trying to get their picture.
At their first Trick or Treating house- our next door neighbor.
After going to several houses in our neighborhood we decided to load up in the car and hit a couple more houses. First we went to visit Ben's friend Christine's parents- and Christine and her boyfriend were there, too. We actually caught Christine and Van just before they were leaving to head back to NC, so it was great timing. Of course the girls were as shy as they could possibly be, but that's okay. It was good to see the McLambs. Here's Paige right after she rang their doorbell.
Then it was time to head to Mimi and Pops' house. I made the girls ring the doorbell and as soon as Pops opened the door the girls walked in and made themselves at home.

Virginia and Paige helped Mimi and Pops hand out candy to the Trick or Treaters that came to their door.
Then they came up with this great game- sticking their candy in Mommy's vest pockets. Best game ever. They would put the candy in and then take it out again, well, most of it at least. This game ended with me having a pocket full of Paige's candy.

And then it was time to go home and get ready for bed. The girls were very upset that they didn't get to have any candy Sunday night, but they got over it quickly. Monday I gave them their first Reeses Peanut Butter Cups after lunch. They loved them and Virginia cried when I wouldn't give them more. They're definitely our daughters!
