We celebrated Christmas at home this year. We got up in the morning, the girls got to see what Santa brought them and we all got to see what was in our stockings- just the four of us.

After seeing what Santa brought us we got ready for our visitors. Mimi, Pops, Uncle Lloyd and Irie came over for breakfast while Dee and Dude waited for it to warm up a little so they could get off the mountain, meet Grandma D and Rufus, and head for our house. They made it down and to our house shortly after we finished eating breakfast. We were worried that they wouldn't make it down off the mountain to celebrate with us, so we were really excited that they got here so early.

Before Dee, Dude, Grandma D and Rufus got to our house we told Paige and Virginia they could open one gift. They, of course, chose the biggest ones, which was their new bedding for their new beds! Once they'd opened the bedding we told them about their new beds which would be delivered on Friday. They were very excited!
Once everyone got to the house there was a lot of gift opening. Paige and Virginia had a ton of gifts to open and the rest of us had some, too, though not as many as the girls did.
Dee made fleece blankets for several of us, and let me tell you, they're the greatest blankets ever! Here are Uncle Lloyd and Irie with their VT blankets. Paige, Virginia, their babies, Ben and I all got UVA blankets.

Each year Mimi and Pops buy animals in Paige and Virginia's name from Heifer International. The actual animals go to poor people who raise them and use them for food. Paige and Virginia get stuffed versions of the animals from Heifer. This year they got cows, like the one Virginia's holding.

This year Mimi asked Ben, Uncle Lloyd and Pops to make her CDs of songs they thought she should know. Ben went all out and also wrote about each song he chose for the CD he made in a journal. Here are Uncle Lloyd, Mimi and Pops checking out the journal.

We had a wonderful Christmas! It was so great to have everyone over at our house again this year. And we're super happy that Dee and Dude made it off the mountain to come!
