Weekend Before Christmas

The weekend before Christmas was a busy one for us.  Friday was the Holiday Program at Paige and Virginia's school.  Each class sang a couple of songs.  Paige and Virginia's class sang 3 songs- "Frosty the Snowman," "Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer," and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."  They stood together at the end of the back row.  Paige actually sang while Virginia stared at her and didn't sing at all.  They did great standing up there with their class, though, and we're very proud of them.  When they were done they walked out of the room holding hands.

Saturday morning we went to Mimi and Pops' house to celebrate Uncle Lloyd's birthday.  We got to hang out and play for awhile and then we ate lunch and played some more before heading home.

After leaving Mimi and Pops' house we headed home to relax for a little while before heading to our next party.  Mollie, Steve, Tessie and Lincoln were having their holiday party that night and we were hoping to hang out with all of the Holts there, but Beth and James decided Brooks was too little for a party.  We all still wanted to meet Brooks, though, so we went to Beth and James' apartment for a few minutes before we went to the party.  The theme of this year's party was "Christmas morning" so we were supposed to wear what we would normally wear on Christmas morning, hence the pajamas.

When we left the Holts' we followed Beth and Kendall to the party while James and Brooks stayed at home.  The four girls (Kendall, Tessie, Paige and Virginia) had so much fun playing together.  Mollie had mad a playhouse out of a box and it was a big hit.  Ben spent most of the evening playing with the girls while I got to hang out with Beth and Mollie.  It was great.

I think we all slept well after the party at Tessie and Lincoln's house, but our weekend of parties wasn't over yet.  Sunday we headed out to Front Royal to celebrate Dude's birthday!  We met Dee, Dude and their friend, Buck, at a Mexican restaurant for lunch and then headed back to their house for dessert and to watch a little football.  I made Dude's birthday dessert like I usually do, but this year I made something new.  It's a Snickerdoodle Apple Cobbler.  It's basically just apple cobbler topped with snickerdoodle cookies.  It was delicious.  Dee had also gotten Dude an ice cream cake, at Paige and Virginia's suggestion, so we ate that as well.

We had a great weekend, but really the excitement was just beginning.  The next day was Christmas Eve!
