We took the Metro into DC and the girls were so excited to ride the train. We just missed a train so we had a bit of a wait on the platform- and it was cold on that platform! Virginia was still happy though.
When we got to the museum we went straight to the food court to get lunch since we were all hungry. After lunch we headed out into the museum to explore. There's a cool area that teaches kids about the dynamics of flight where we spent the majority of our time.
Virginia and Paige learning about the shape of wings.
These computer screens show how the different shapes of wings change how the air flows around them. Paige and Virginia liked the touchscreens and the pretty colors.
Virginia tested her reaction time while Paige watched.
And the Paige tested her reaction time.
After exploring a bit more of the museum it was time to head home, but first we had to show the girls the building where Dude worked for 28 (I think) years- the US Capitol Building. One of these days we'll have to take them inside.
We got back on the Metro and rode it back to our car. We had a fun trip into the city and decided that we need to do that more often when we have no weekend plans. We're lucky to live so close to the nation's capital- we should really take advantage of it.
