18 month appointment and pictures!

Today we took the girls for their 18 month well baby check up. They did great! The doctor said they're very healthy little (big) girls and are developing well. He's not at all concerned about the fact that they don't really talk. He said as long as we're not concerned about their hearing, they can understand us and they're making sounds, he's not concerned. YAY! We thought going in that we might be leaving there with a referral for a speech evaluation, but were happy to hear that he's not concerned. Apparently twins talk later than singletons because they learn to communicate with each other so they wait longer to talk to other people. We had to fill out evaluations on the girls today and we'll have to do them again in 6 months- a check for autism. They passed their screen with flying colors! Some of the question on it made me laugh, like "Does your child like to climb on things (e.g. stairs)?" These girls climb on everything! It's nearly impossible to keep them off the couches.

And now for their 18 month stats:
Paige: 33.5 inches tall- 90th percentile
28 pounds 5.2 ounces- 92nd percentile

Virginia: 33.5 inches tall- 90th percentile
29 pounds 9.6 ounces- 96th percentile
And now for some pictures!

The backpacks have "tethers" that attach to them, but we haven't put those on the girls yet.
Paige pushes her favorite things in the stroller:
her blankie, "Goodnight Moon", and the Little People dog and cat.

Virginia reads a book on her couch

Virginia putting her pants on- at least half way.
She managed to get one pant leg on all the way, but couldn't figure out how to get the other pant leg on.

The girls are growing up so fast. Virginia has 15 teeth and Paige has 13. They have their 8 front teeth and their first set of molars. They're working on their eye teeth now- Virginia is starting to get her 3rd while Paige still just has her first.

Also, I started a new blog. This one is a picture a day blog, so each day I'll take pictures and post my favorite one, or one that has meaning of some sort. I may not make a post each day, but I'll have a picture for each day (hopefully). The new blog is rowlandsin2010.blogspot.com Check it out!
