Exciting Sunday

We had a busy day last Sunday.  Sunday morning we went to Sophia and Isaac's (and Ashley and Mike's) house for a playdate and lunch.  This was our first playdate with them, but I have a feeling there will be more in our future.  It was great because the girls (all 4 years old) are old enough to go off and play together without an adult constantly with them, so Ben and I actually got to socialize with Ashley and Mike- and little Isaac.  All of our other playdates have been with younger children so us adults have always had to be very active with them during the playdate.  That's fine and always fun, but this was nice for a change.

We had a nice lunch of sandwiches, fruit and vegetables.  Then the girls went off and played some more.  We headed home about 2 in hopes of catching naps before heading out to meet Dee and Dude for hiking and dinner later that day.  Paige and Virginia napped a little on the way home, but unfortunately decided they were done napping once we got home.  They played for awhile and then we headed to Sky Meadows State Park to meet up with Dee and Dude.

We went on a short hike with Dee and Dude.  The trail we took was in the sun too much for us to go too far- and Virginia and Paige were tired.

Virginia got tired and had to be carried part of the way up.

Hanging out at the top of the hill, taking a break before heading back down.
We had a nice little hike and we'll probably go back sometime when it's not so hot- and when Paige and Virginia are better rested.  After our hike we went to Hunter's Head Tavern in Upperville for dinner.  We'd never been there before, but it was a quaint little place that we may go back to someday.  Sunday was a very exciting and exhausting day.  I think we all slept well that night.
