July 3rd

We had a busy day on the 3rd of July.  It started with Mommy and Daddy going to work while Paige and Virginia hung out with Mimi and Pops.  Then I picked them up after lunch and we headed to the doctor's office for their 5 year well check up.  Paige and Virginia got a clean bill of health.  They are big girls with great hearing and vision.  They also each got one shot- their last (except for flu shots) until they're 11.  They did great with the shots- neither one of them made a peep, well, except Paige did talk through her shot.  They're still close to the same size.  Virginia is 1/4 inch taller than Paige at 45 1/4 inches, whereas Paige is 45 inches.  Paige is a little heavier, though, for the first time ever.  Paige is 49.1 pounds (although she was wearing her flip flops) and Virginia is 48.6 pounds.  Dr. Ohriner said they're at the 90th percentile in height and weight and on their way to being around 5'8" or so.

After the doctor's appointment we came home for awhile for rest and then headed over to Star Spangled South Riding.  We were some of the first ones there so Paige and Virginia got to play on some of the moonbounces by themselves.  They loved it.

After playing on the moonbounces for a little while we went and got some dinner.  While we were eating dinner they got the hamster balls ready.  We waited for a few other kids to go in the balls and then Paige and Virginia each got a turn.  They had fun running around in them and also playing with their sister while they were in the ball.

Once the girls were done playing in the hamster ball we headed back over to the food area for dessert.  Paige, Virginia and Ben all got shaved ice while I got an ice cream cone.  At the place where they got the shaved ice they got to put on their own syrups, so they had interesting shaved ice.

She had a bit of a run in with the blue raspberry syrup and it squirted all over her.
We watched the band while we ate our dessert.  I just thought it was funny that one of the lead singers decided to walk over to the ramp on the side of the stage and make a phone call during the concert.
After watching the band for a little while we headed back over to the moonbounces, but now there were long lines to get on everything.  Paige and Virginia didn't want to wait in line so we decided to just head home for baths and bed.  We missed the fireworks, but that's okay.  At least it didn't storm this year like it did last year.  We had a good time at Star Spangled South Riding.  We're all so glad we moved to a community that does activities like that.
