Paige was having a really tough time with some bug bites on the way over so when we got there I gave her some Benadryl to help with the itching. We all sat down and ate a delicious lunch. When Paige finished eating she got up and put herself down for a nap. I guess we now know what kind of reaction Paige has to Benadryl. She took a good long nap curled up in her bed.
While Paige slept Virginia got some baseball lessons from Dude. Here she is getting in some batting practice.
Dee brought some sparklers so after everyone got up from their nap we went outside to light some of those. Paige and Virginia didn't want to hold them so Dee, Mommy and Daddy played with sparklers.

We had taco salad for dinner that night and Paige and Virginia had a great time helping Mimi take the salad. here they are crunching up chips to add to the salad. After dinner the girls helped Pops make dessert for everyone. They put fruit in the mugs and added a little chocolate sauce.
And what's dessert without a little whipped cream?!
High fives all around for a delicious (and pseudo-healthy) dessert.
On Friday we headed over to the Cacapon River to hang out for awhile. We took a picnic lunch and ate while we were there. The girls had lots of fun playing in the river. It was a great place to be on a hot day.

Virginia's turn to check out the leaves.
Group picture taken by Virginia- she's a pretty good little photographer.
Saturday morning, after breakfast we went over to the state park to do a little fishing. Paige and Virginia were good little teachers and taught me how to fish. We had pretty good luck and everyone caught a few fish.

And Virginia with her first fish.
Proof that I actually was fishing.
After fishing we headed back to the treehouse with Mimi and Pops to eat lunch. Then it was time for us to get everything packed up and head for home. We had to go home Saturday so that we could get a good night's sleep and be ready for Paige and Virginia's gymnastics class on Sunday. We had a wonderful long weekend at the treehouse and hopefully it won't be almost a year before we are out there again.
