Day Trip to Waynesboro

Last Saturday we went to my grandparents' (Grandma D and Rufus) house in Waynesboro for the day.  Aunt Grit, Chelsea, Matt, Ashley and Aubrey were in town so we wanted to go see them.  It was a tiring day, but a lot of fun.  We got up and left our house about 8 and headed down.  We managed to run into Dee and Dude on the road (not literally!) when they pulled onto I-66 beside us, so we got to Grandma D and Rufus' house within about a minute of each other.

Aunt Grit had brought bubbles for the three girls, so we went outside and played with those until it started to rain on us.  Aubrey took awhile to warm up to everyone, so for awhile it was just Paige and Virginia running around with the bubbles.  At first Virginia was blowing the bubbles and Paige was chasing them.
Then Dee took over blowing the bubbles and Aubrey joined in on chasing them with Virginia and Paige.

When it started raining we all had to go inside.  That was when the three girls decided to start playing with the dishwasher box Rufus had made into a playhouse for them.  They had a great time in there- lots of laughing and carrying on.
We all had a great lunch that Grandma D made for us- ham, au gratin potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green beans, jello salad, and bread.  After lunch Dee and Aunt Grit took the girls to the playground while the rest of us stayed at the house and visited.  From what I hear they had a great time at the playground and visiting with the horses on the way back to Grandma D and Rufus' house.

Paige and Virginia have not stopped asking about playing with Aubrey since we got home.  Hopefully it won't be too long before we can get the three girls together again to play.

Paige and Virginia slept pretty much the whole way home that night and even slept in a little the next morning.  Of course, the next day was another busy day for us. :)
