A Saturday at Frying Pan Farm Park

One Saturday we had nothing to do so we decided to take a short trip to Frying Pan Farm Park.  When we got there there was a horse show going on in the outdoor ring, so we went over and sat down and watched for awhile
After watching several horses go through the jumps we decided to head over to the animals.  We saw lots and lots of piglets, some goats and sheep.  Virginia, Paige and I even petted a sheep that was laying right up at the fence.
Then we walked over to where birds are and saw the peacock in all his glory.  He was really trying to put the moves on one of the peahens, but she wanted nothing to do with him.  It was really neat to see him with his tail feathers fully extended, though.  He was beautiful.  Here he is from the front.
And from the back.  Look at the spines on those feathers!
Silly Paige!
We are so lucky to have a place like Frying Pan Farm Park so close to us, especially since it's free.  It's a great place to go when you just want to get out of the house for a little while.  I'm sure we'll spend our fair share of time there this summer.  Maybe we'll even go on some more Saturdays to check out more horse shows.
