RIP Grandma Betty

On Monday April 13, 2015 my Grandma Betty (Dee's Mom) passed away.  She hadn't been feeling well late the previous week and was admitted to the hospital on Saturday.  She had some kind of infection that she wasn't able to fight off.  While we are all sad and miss her a lot we're glad she didn't have to suffer for long.  And we find peace in the fact that after almost 18 years she's back with Grandpa Buck.

Grandma Betty turned 80 last October and there was a big birthday party for her.  I'm so glad that party happened and that so many people, including us, were able to go and see her.  Here's our 4 generations picture (with Lane photobombing, so really 5 generations) from Grandma's party.
Grandma Betty was the type of woman who would do anything for anyone.  She spent her entire adult life taking care of people in her personal life.  She, along with Grandpa Buck, raised 4 daughters and when she became a grandmother at a young age, she was always there to help Aunt Debbie with Lee Ann.  She was always there to help her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren whenever we needed her.  As was mentioned multiple times at her funeral she helped raise most of the people in her small town of Fredericktown, Ohio.  Everyone in that town knew her.  I remember walking down the streets in town as a child with her and everyone stopping to talk to her.  As she grew older she went from taking care of children to taking care of adults who needed her.  She nursed my grandpa through heart attacks, cancer and after his stroke until his death back in 1997.  She also went on to help take care of her brother, Uncle Bob, during his battle with lung cancer.  Even as she got older and needed her own help she would still do anything she could for anyone else.  She would have given you the shirt off of her back if you asked for it, without hesitation.

She will be greatly missed by many, many people.  I love you, Grandma, and I will miss you forever.  I hope you're enjoying heaven and hanging out with Grandpa, your siblings, Aunt Debbie and Wade.  Give them all hugs for me.
