Dancing girls, a parade and a visit from Uncle Charles

We've had a busy past couple of days. Friday was the Centreville High School Homecoming Parade which happens to go right in front of Mimi and Pops' house, so we all went over there to watch the parade. The girls weren't too interested in it, but they watched it. I think what they really enjoyed watching were all of the other children that were gathered on the street to watch the parade (and collect candy).

When the girl stayed with Mimi and Pops while Ben and I were in Hawaii they learned how to climb up on the love seat, but Mimi taught them that the only way they were allowed to get on the love seat was if they had books with them. So before the parade we were playing at Mimi and Pops' house and the girls decided they wanted to get on the love seat. As you can see Virginia has a book in her hand. Paige did have one, but I don't know what she did with it when she got up on the love seat.

Saturday Ben's great-uncle Charles was in town for the day from Arkansas, so we all went over to Mimi and Pops' house again. This was the first time Uncle Charles got to meet the girls, and they weren't sure about him at first, but they warmed up to him.

The phone rang while we were at Mimi and Pops' house and the girls went to the phone to listen for a message. When the answering machine at our house picks up you can hear Ben's voice on the outgoing message. That always catches the girls' attention. I guess they listen for Ben's voice when they're at Mimi and Pops' house, too.

Do you think these men are related?

So when we were in Hawaii Ben's mom told me about how our girls liked to dance to music on the "Toddler Tunes" channel on digital cable. We've witnessed it a couple of times since, but Friday morning I was lucky enough to catch it on video. Paige is in the brown sleeper and Virginia is in the yellow. Enjoy!
