Play- and Lunch-Date!

Today the girls and I had a play- and lunch-date with a friend of mine and her boy/girl twins. We met at Centreville Elementary school and let the children play on the playground for awhile and then we went to Ledo Pizza for lunch. Unfortunately we had to cut the play time short because of some police activity in the area. We have no idea what was going on, but there was a helicopter circling the whole time we were there. We weren't too bothered by that, but it made us more aware of our surroundings, so when a cop car stopped on the side of 28 and when we saw a K-9 unit walking up 28 we decided it was time to get out of there. I still have no idea what happened, but the children were definitely not happy about having to leave. They were having too much fun!

The problem I've found with elementary school playgrounds compared to neighborhood playgrounds is that school ones never have toddler swings. It's perfectly alright since they don't have toddlers in their schools, but it's annoying because our children are a little small for regular swings. At least we thought they were. Paige and Emmy were pretty insistent about getting on the swings, so we decided to try it. All three of the boys did amazingly well with it. Jack never came over to get on the swings, he was having too much fun climbing. We only had one incident where someone fell and that was Paige, but it wasn't bad. She cried for about half a second and needed a hug from Mommy and was ready to get back on. These little ones are growing up way too fast!

We had a great time and we can't wait to do it again sometime soon. Hopefully next time there will be no police.
