Memorial Day Weekend in Front Royal

Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend Todd, Sandra and Keats got into town from Alaska.  On Sunday we went down to visit and spend the night.  After two years of not seeing Todd, Sandra and Keats it was great to be able to spend some quality time with them.

Keats loved Jefferson right away.  Jefferson was tolerant of Keats picking him up.
Cousins and couches in the kitchen.
Keats, Paige and Virginia eating popsicles on the deck.
The kids had lots of time to play outside in the sprinkler and with water guns, or "shooters" as Paige called them.  They had a great time running around and getting all wet.

This picture just makes me think of Charlie's Angels.
Keats and Paige shooting Uncle Todd with their water guns.
After playing in the water for awhile it was time for a little teeball.  This was Paige and Virginia's first teeball lesson, but Keats is already pretty good.  Paige and Virginia were excited to run for the ball.
Keats was pretty good at hitting the ball off the tee- or knocking the tee down while hitting the ball.  Uncle Todd did a great job coaching and chasing down the balls.

Keats' dog, Nila, came from Alaska with Todd, Sandra and Keats.  She's staying with Dee and Dude while Todd, Sandra and Keats go to Germany.  She's such a pretty and well behaved dog.
Story time with Uncle Todd.
Paige, Virginia and Keats eating a snack on the deck.  Keats doesn't like having his picture taken so he covers his face with his hands and yells, "No pictures," when he sees a camera.
After dinner we all headed to the playground in town.  Paige, Virginia and Keats had a great time playing on all the different parts of the playground.
The tire swing was a big hit- until Paige fell out of it.  She was fine, just a little scared.
Running to the stream with Dee!
After the playground Dee and Dude took the kids home for baths and bed while Todd, Sandra, Ben and I went to a bar to spend some adult time together.  We had a wonderful time just hanging out and talking.

Monday brought lots more outside time.  The kids all had a great time riding their bikes around the driveway.  Aren't Paige and Virginia cute in their helmets?!

And then playing baseball in the driveway.  Uncle Todd helped Virginia hit the ball.
Dude gave Paige directions on how to keep her elbows up while she was hitting.
Even Jefferson and Nila had fun playing together.
More water fun!  Keats getting ready to spray Paige with the hose.
Virginia and Aunt Sandra hanging out in their deck chairs.
Dee bought a pool for the kids to play in.  The only problem was that it had to be inflated.  There were three rings to it- the bottom two of which I blew up while we had a compressor blowing up the top ring.  I was a little out of breath by the time I finished.

Keats loved jumping into the pool!
Paige had fun jumping in, too, or just hanging out in the pool.
Virginia had fun playing with Dee in the pool.
Grandma D and Rufus also came up on Monday and spent the day with us.  Somehow, though, I didn't get any pictures of them.  We all had a great time playing and spending time together all weekend.  I'm so glad we got to spend that time together.
