Thursday at Mimi and Pops' House

On Thursday Uncle Lloyd and Cousin Chuck got into town for Pops' retirement, so we went over to Mimi and Pops' house for dinner.  Thursday was Pops' last day of work, so he was ready to relax and celebrate with all of us.

He really enjoyed hanging out with Virginia, Paige and Irie in the backyard. 

Cousin Chuck was nice enough to bring gifts for Paige and Virginia.  The girls were very excited about getting special gifts.

Paige was super excited about her Cinderella Barbie was Chuck and Rick.

Virginia was shocked to see that she got her very own cell phone from Chuck and Rick.

Chuck helped Virginia get her Ariel Barbie out of the wrapping.

After Paige and Virginia opened their gifts it was time to Pops to open his.  Paige and Virginia were sure to help him open his cards.

They weren't sure, though, about giving Pops his cards after they opened them.

Cousin Chuck made a new friend- Jefferson!

For a retirement gift Ben, Uncle Lloyd and I went in together to get Pops a flight in a biplane- and a silk flying scarf that he is modelling here.  He's never ridden in a biplane so he's very excited about his flight.

Virginia had to show off her pedicure to cousin Chuck.

Virginia discovered that it was fun to pull the leaves off the tree in Mimi and Pops' backyard- and that she is now tall enough to do it.

But Paige found that it was more fun to have Mimi pick her up so she could pull more leaves off of the tree.

Virginia liked Paige's idea and made sure Mimi picked her up, too.

It's not very often that these three Rowland men are together- Chuck, Ben and Lloyd.

Thursday night was a lot of fun at Mimi and Pops' house.  It was especially nice to be able to spend some time with Chuck since we hadn't seen him in over 3 years!
